The Merrymouth Inn, a coaching inn, dates all the way to the 13th century when it was probably a traveller's hospice belonging to the manor, then under the ownership of the Bruern Abbey monks.

Guests who find themselves ensconced in the welcoming environs of this charming old building will be able to engage the sense of history which is so much a part of the region. The Merrymouth Inn offers a choice of nine double or twin bedrooms, with the additional option of a family room which has bunk beds for the younger ones.

Aside from enjoying comfortable, inviting rooms with en-suite facilities, each of the rooms are located at the rear of the property and has the added appeal of looking out onto the beautiful, rolling countryside. If that isn't enough to entice the aesthetically avaricious, all rooms have been expertly converted from the original stables into beautiful spaces calm and comfort. Well behaved dogs are also welcome.

Offering culinary delights to appease the most ardent gourmet, the Merrymouth Inn prepares its range of delightful dishes from fresh, locally sourced produce.

The fine culinary creations work perfectly in conjunction with the excellent wine list, which offers some classics and many fine bottles from select New World vineyards. A local Real Ale might be just the thing to warm the spirit on a cool winter night.

Rates range from £50 for a single occupancy of a double room, whereas its £75 for two people. Family accommodations are available for £85. All rates include a breakfast which is served between 9am and noon.
